FAQs

How many people can stay in the Garden Cottage?

The Garden Cottage is perfect for couples or singles.

Can we bring an infant?

Yes, guests with a child under 2 are more than welcome.  We can provide a travel cot, baby tableware and a high chair on request.  Please note, the cottage does not have a bath, so if your baby won’t be happy taking a shower with you, let us know (we’d be very happy to provide a small baby bath).

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, no.

What will be in the Garden Cottage?

The kitchen includes an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, dish washer and washing machine.  We provide cookings utensils and crockery, so all you need to do bring is the food.  There will be tea bags, a cafetière and coffee, washing up liquid, a washing sponge and a tea towel ready for you on arrival.  We also provide all the bed linen and towels, toilet roll and Bramley bathroom products.

Do you offer bed & breakfast?

Not anymore!  The main farmhouse operated a successful B&B for many years, however, we took the difficult decision not to continue with a bed and breakfast service when we took over ownership of Beadon Farmhouse in January 2021. Instead, we have restored the farmhouse to a family home, but continue to welcome guests to stay in our self-catered Garden Cottage.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available for one car, meaning you can easily leave your car and explore the area on foot.  During peak season, there is also a Park & Ride Service that drops off at the top of Beadon Road (sometimes useful for tired legs and avoiding the uphill climb from the centre of Salcombe back home to the Farmhouse!).

Where is the nearest supermarket and petrol station?

The nearest shop is the local Spa & Post Office on Loring Road (0.4 miles or a 10 minutes walk).  Salcombe Co-op is on Gould Road (0.6 miles or a 15 minute walk).  The closest petrol station is the Gulf Filling Station (0.2 miles away), where you'll also find the Salcombe Meat Company & Farm shop.
